2007, Wolfenchanter & Romania

Journal Entry: Mon Dec 31, 2007, 2:24 PM
Firstly i would just like to say a big thank you to those who have supported me! :thanks:  Some of you know this is my second DA account.  My other is ~FairyLord I never intended to have a second account, but with my growing interest in the Carpathians & Romania, i felt the need to express this in art form.  Thus, it led me to photomanipulation :)  I would also like to say a BIG thank you to the stock providers.  Without them, wolfenchanter would not be!

There is a part of me that believes the driving force behind this account is on a subconscious level.  I'm trying to discover something, and it's a secret.  I've never actually been to Romania (i'm originally from Australia and i currently live in England), and yet i have this curiousity for the country.  Sometimes i will see photos posted here on DA that stir up something within me which i cannot explain.  I don't know if i believe in reincarnation, but if so, then i would simply believe i had a past life there.  I am particularly drawn to the Carpathian Mountains, especially Bucegi... i get this feeling i know this place, and i am deeply fond of it.  My interest in this country isn't a recent one.  It spans over 10 years now.  The name Valahia mysteriously turned up in my novel too, which i later found out is the province of Wallachia.  I've had amazing dreams about the country too, yet still i haven't drawn any conclusions if this really means something special... or i am simply living in a fantasy world!

2007 hasn't been such a bad year, much better than previous ones.  I am hoping with my Wolfenchanter i have created the building blocks to lead me onto something new and exciting... and hopefully a secret that will eventually be revealed!   I had intended to post a few new pictures here, but i'm still in my art block *sigh*

Best wishes to you all for 2008!
~

The name Wolfenchanter is based on a male person with a close kinship with nature & wolves, who loves the forests and mountains and who is very solitary in nature.  He is a night spirit.

:) you know, you can get really cheap flights to romania these days. you should probably go when the medieval festival in sighisoara (transilvania) is on.

and as a bit of culture, wallachia, or valahia, comes from the word used by the germanic tribes to designate latin speaking people of the roman empire. it is believed that "wales" shares the same root, it being also a romanized region of britain. in the past, romanians have been called "vlahi" and continue to be called that outside the borders of romania, throughout the balkans, where dialects of romanian are spoken. "romania" was also the name proper of the eastern roman empire, which much outlived the western roman empire after the goth and slav invasions.

Thank you very much for this info! I was hoping someone could tell me more :D
I had no idea the name had anything to do with the Roman empire, or that it came from the Germanic tribes. :) I have a tendency to think of Romania as being the most mysterious of the eastern European countries :)

The medieval festival sounds awesome! And i would love to visit Sighisoara. Yes, flights are quite cheap these days, but i'm so utterly broke! But i'm sure an opportunity will arise one day ;)

 I understand. I'm like that with new zealand... I saw a thing on it when i was a child, and the mountians, lakes and plains just blew me away.
I'm very restless, i haven't lived in a place for more then 8 months at a time since i was 17. i think that when i go to a place and feel comfortable, and able to settle, i think then is when i've found home. It could be a number of places. i dont' know. thats just my thoughts.
I strongly believe in reincarnation. it explains a lot of abilities that i and others around me innately have.
:glomp: you know where i am if you ever need to talk. my msn and yahoo on my page.

New Zealand is very nice too :) I used to have a thing for it when i was younger.
Wow, and i thought i moved around lot! Yeah, i feel the same, i don't really feel settled in any one place. I get the feeling i never will.
:glomp: maybe we can chat one day!

 i get itchy feet if i stay too long in one place. i had this theory once. and with time i stopped believing it. then this amazing thing happened - i saw it in action/ it happened to me. i think this is the same. one dya your feet will touch the soil and suddenly you'll feel like you're home.
i think that would be wonderful. i have totally obscure hours, so it won't be that hard

I do actually want to move, but i've been stuck in my flat for 9 years!! Here in England, rentals are so hard to find, and so expensive, so i just have to stay put.
Hmm, that is interesting. Where did you feel like you were home?
I have obscure hours too ;P

i would go insane... 9 years??? :-O it sucks that rentals are that hard to find, its slowly getting that way here.
A few times i've had this dream. I travel, but through the air, just me, flying. I visited Ireland, New Zealand and a few other places. so far NZ has been the most welcoming. The worst part is waking up and having this insane urge to go the places i've just been in my dream. Thats when i want to move house again ^^;

9 years! :o yep! It's the longest i've stayed anywhere. Ironically i was happier in the other places i've lived, but unforseen circumstances forced me to move and i rarely stayed more than 3 years in any one place. But this place seems to have some kind of hold on me! The flat itself isn't so bad... too small but is welcoming to me. No bad energy here.

Maybe you astrally project to these places :) I have travelled to many places too. Romania has so far been the most awe-inspiring :D Sadly a lot of my dreams about Australia are unpleasant ones. But an inner feeling tells me i will end up back there.

I want to reply to your other messages but i've been online way longer than i should :phew: I will catch up with you tomorrow!
