This is my second Deviant Art account. The reason why I made a new account was that i wanted to explore a different art style. I never thought i'd have any talent for photo manipulation, but i think my first attempts turned out quite well.
:iconfairylord: FairyLord is my other account. Featured there are my traditional fantasy paintings inspired by beautiful long-haired boys. (warning: contains male nudity!)
  • Mood: Sentimental
  • Listening to: Ancient Rites - Rubicon

I've got to get my hands on that Before the Dawn album (and the rest of them while I'm at it)... You'd think it's impossible not to find albums in question when one lives in the same country that the band, but I can't find them anywhere :( (nor the Dawn of Solace albums either)...

Thanks for reminding :D

I didn't know you were a Before The Dawn fan :) This new one is pretty good, but i think The Ghost is the best.
Strange that you can't find them in your country! I usually download or order most stuff online from Napalm Records in Austria. [link] They carry a huge stock (and most of the bands i like are on that record label! :D) They have always been very reliable. And cheap!
What are Dawn of Solace like?

I don't know if I'm a fan yet, but I'm interested and curious. The metal/music magazines here have made an effort of promoting the band, and with me it seems to have worked.

I'd like to order stuff, but usually my lack of credit card gets in the way (like with my attempt of buying band t-shirts). Also the Visa Electron of my bank doesn't work with internet buying outside Finland. :( I have a lots of albums on my 'to buy' list, too bad I can't get them anywhere here...

Dawn of Solace is the other band of the Before the Dawn -guy. It's similar, but "slower and darker" (his own words from his myspace-site for the band ([link])). It's got an album or two out (can't really keep track, that guy's fast). Sounds great.

Oh, i thought i should mention too... I would much rather buy the cd's i want, as i think these bands deserve the support, but i wouldn't be able to listen to much of what i do as i simply can't afford to buy it all. I know a lot of people are against downloading. I can't blame them really.

Yep, i definitely think Before The Dawn deserve the recognition they get :)
Have you tried downloading the music you want? I would prefer to buy the originals, but usually i can't afford it.
Dawn of Solace sound interesting :) I've got it on download too.

I like something I can hold (and the booklets are necessary). It's like buying the book instead of going to the library. I'm a collector, I admit. Downloading is an option... I've got to think about it. And I hope that if I decide to download I'll find them too.

Money's always an issue... And referring to the other message: I believe artist needs his/hers credits and I'm really sorry I can't afford giving my support to every artist who deserves it (eg. most bands on my to buy-list)... :D I understand people against it, they've got a point. But money makes the world go 'round and all just don't have it.

Yes, i too like having the complete/original cd. I'm a collector too, but my finances make limitations on who i collect the most. I try to give my support when i can... these bands need us as we need them :D I think i'd be dead without metal!

I found some Before the Dawn albums! Yay, at last :D Too bad I could only afford one now. I hope they're not sold the next time I go there (which is unlikely, considering how well they were hidden ;p)

Without music altogether I'd go crazy. And without metal - well, I wouldn't be myself at all. And I like myself.

Yay! :D Glad you found them! I hide stuff too if i need to buy it later, LOL!
Yeah, i know EXACTLY what you mean, i'd go crazy without music too... and you put it perfectly "without metal i wouldn't be myself at all".
I was originally going to title this journal 'Metal saved my soul' but it sounded a little corny. :) Metal has been with me through some of the worst times in my life, and it got me through
