The Carpathians

Wed Aug 29, 2007, 12:34 PM
A small collection of some of my favourite photos of the Carpathians in Romania.

I am mysteriously drawn to this place. :)  It inspired me to start this account and encouraged me to try photo manipulation for the first time.
From some research I've done, the Carpathians are noted to have 'mysterious forces'... There is a strong energy (magnetic) centre there, one of the most powerful in the world it is said .  It is also a place of outstanding natural beauty, one of the last great wildernesses in Europe.   It's conservation is of dire importance.  This is an excerpt.. " The Carpathians are exceptionally rich in species, the last European stronghold of large mammals including brown bears, wolves and lynx, for example. There are about four thousand wolves in the Carpathian region. The Worldwide Fund for Nature (WWF) has selected the Carpathians as one of their top two hundred eco-regions in the world. So it's an area of global importance in terms of nature."

This is my second Deviant Art account. The reason why I made a new account was that i wanted to explore a different art style. I never thought i'd have any talent for photo manipulation, but i think my first attempts turned out quite well.
:iconfairylord: FairyLord is my other account. Featured there are my traditional fantasy paintings inspired by beautiful long-haired boys. (warning: contains male nudity!)

Yes, Valyn is a really nice guy :) I'm just sorry for all the hardship and sickness he has to endure.

I am from West Yorkshire :) but i'm originally from Australia. I came to live in England in 1992.

West Yorkshire? where? I lived there for almost 18 years, I went to Leeds in 1988 after my boy friend who was at uni there, then I did a degree in bradford and we married and lived in Mytholmroyd and the hebden Bridge, when we divorced i lived back in Leeds and then Todmorden before moving to Wales 2 and a half years ago to be near my parents. i have a boy friend called Scott who is from leeds originally, he look like a pretty boy from a Caravaggio painting, all curls and big blue eyes and an angel face.

Yes,I have a similair condition to Valyn, we both have Autism.

I'm near Pontefract :) Where in Wales do you live? As far as i know Hebden Bridge and Todmorden (a place known for UFO sightings! lol) are really nice. And Scott sounds lovely ^^
I'm sure you can really sympathise with Valyn. :) In fact, it was off Angelsaints page that i found you :D I found your responses there more interesting than the others and i related to them.

i'm just off to make a sandwich now :P

I know it, yeah. Scott's family came from Sheffield and he grew up in Leeds. DA is a small world isn't? especially if you're Gothic and like pretty boys with long black ahir. Do the pretty Goth boys still hang out by the corn exchange in Leeds do you know? they always used to.:) I'm off to Leeds on the 5th July to see Scott's family and catch up with family in Hebden and Tod. I love Valyn and Dori. Have you met Dream Traveler? I can't rember if I asked but any lover of boys with long black hair will know him, he is the king of all boys with long black hair.

Gah, the Corn Exchange! I haven't been into Leeds for many years! That place had some really great shops. Last time i was there was 95. I think the goths were still there too :)
I don't know Dream Traveler personally but I've left a comment or two in the past on his pages :)
